Pastor Castell-Florit Serrate, MD, PhD, DrSc
Physician with a doctorate in health sciences, specializing in public health administration. Dr Castell-Florit is currently director of Cuba’s National School of Public Health, where he is also full professor, vice president of the scientific council, and chair of the Dr Abelardo Ramírez Márquez Health Services and Systems Leadership Program. He has served as consultant to universities and public health institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, and coordinates the Association of Health Education Schools of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean (ALAESP, its acronym in Spanish). He is the author of the several publications on intersectorality.

Mayra de la Caridad Pérez Álvarez, DDS
Dentist and professor of oral medicine at the Bauta Dental Teaching Clinic in Havana. Dr Pérez is professor in the UNESCO Biomaterials Program at the University of Havana. She has also served as principal investigator for nine national and international clinical trials.

Pedro C Rodríguez Rodríguez, MD
Pharmacologist. Assistant professor and clinical investigator at the Molecular Immunology Center (CIM, its Spanish acronym) in Havana, where he conducted EGF vaccine preclinical research beginning in 2001. He is currently involved in eight clinical trials using the CIMAVax EGF therapeutic vaccine in non-small-cell lung cancer and prostate cancer, as well as two clinical trials using an N-acetyl ganglioside-based therapeutic vaccine in kidney cancer and HIV patients.

Solangel Valdés Días, MD
Pulmonologist. Head of the Pedro Rabiña Pulmonology Service at the Benéfico Jurídico Teaching Hospital in Havana. Dr Valdés is also associate professor at the Dr Salvador Allende Medical School in Havana. She is currently conducting research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.
