MEDICC Review announces three new sections of the peer-reviewed journal, as well as rolling publication of important papers as they are approved. These changes respond to the urgent need to bring the contributions of the region’s scientists and health professionals to a wider global audience, especially regarding the most pressing One Health issues of our time, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
The journal now publishes important manuscripts as they are approved Early Online.
PLUS, we have expanded our content beyond our customary sections (Original Research, Review Article, Lessons from the Field, Perspective and Viewpoint, as well as Letters) to include these NEW options:
- Short Article allows authors to maintain the rigor of Original Article, while treating more limited or preliminary results;
- COVID-19 Case Studies describes only cases involving the SARS-CoV-2 virus; and
- Testimony offers authors the opportunity to relate personal experiences that have shaped their thinking and practice, illustrating lessons learned or broader ramifications.

Drawing upon the contributions of the region in social medicine, social movements, rich diversity and scientific prowess, Latin America and Caribbean authors published in the journal can help fill gaps in thinking and evidence sorely needed to build a sustainable future and a hopeful legacy for coming generations. We look forward to contributing to increased visibility for their work and to its positive impact on both regional integration and worldwide solutions.

MEDICC Review anuncia tres nuevas secciones arbitradas, así como la publicación continua de importantes artículos a medida que son aprobados. Estos cambios responden a la necesidad urgente de llevar las contribuciones de los científicos y profesionales de la salud de la región a una audiencia global más amplia, especialmente las relacionadas con los apremiantes temas de Una Salud para nuestro tiempo, incluyendo la pandemia de COVID-19.
La revista publica ahora importantes manuscritos a medida que son aprobados en su sección Early Online.
Además hemos ampliado nuestro contenido más allá de nuestras secciones acostumbradas (Original Research, Review Article, Lessons from the Field, Perspective y Viewpoint, así como Letters) para incluir estas NUEVAS opciones:
- Short Article(Artículo corto) permite a los autores mantener el rigor del Original Article al tratar resultados más limitados o preliminares;
- COVID-19 Case Studies (Estudios de caso de COVID-19) describe solamente casos que involucren el virus SARS-CoV-2 virus; y
- Testimony ofrece a los autores la oportunidad de relatar nexperiencias personales que han marcado su pensamiento y práctica, ilustrando lecciones aprendidas o ramificaciones más amplias.
